The Long Student Center is home to many of the main attractions on campus that most students utilize daily. The original student union, formerly called Harter Union, has been one of the central buildings for students since its construction in 1959.
The Daily Grind is located on the first floor of the Long Student Center and is a place that students can get coffee or a snack and socialize or study. With many tables and three private study rooms, there are many areas for students to complete their work.
The university bookstore is also located in the Long Student Center and is a place for students to buy their books, school supplies and Baker University apparel. The cafeteria, or “the caf”, is located on the first floor of the Long Student Center, too.
The Late Night Grill serves food in the cafeteria from 8pm-10pm, Sunday through Thursday. The building has undergone many changes through the years and used be home to the admissions and financial aid offices. The basement also used to have a bowling alley, game room and The Wildcat Grill.
“I don’t really see Baker functioning without [the union] honestly.”
